Fall/Winter Warming Tea

I make this tea every fall and winter. I don’t really have a quantity of ingredients, just as pictured. It’s really just made to taste. You can modify this however you’d like.

This tea is warming in nature.

 

Ingredients (organic, for the win): 

8-10 Ceylon Cinnamon Sticks (or regular cinnamon)

2-3 Tblsp of Ground Cinnamon

4-5 Tblsp of Ground Ginger

5-6 Slices of Ginger Root

2-3 Tblsp of Black Peppercorn (use any color)

3-4 Tblsp of Black Tea (use any tea you like, but darker ones such as black, oolong, etc seem to work well for me)

 3-4 Whole Cloves 

Optional: 2-3 Tblsp Bitter Orange Peel

Optional: 1-2 Tblsp Dandelion Root 

 

Directions: Use a large boiling pot, add at least 1 gallon of pure water (not tap!) I use distilled and add back minerals. You can also use RO. I don’t recommend tap.

I combine all ingredients into water, bring it up to boil and then stop just before it reaches the boiling point. I then cover and let simmer. I drink up to 3-4 cups a day. This usually lasts a couple days and I typically just leave it on the stove covered overnight.

Sometimes I will add some more fresh ginger on day 2. If it is too strong for you, add more water.

To sweeten, I will sometimes use (local) honey. Never use milk in your tea! It ruins the medicinal properties of the tea.
